FIRST Teams Make a Difference at the Rah Cha Cha Ruckus

This year the Rah Cha Cha Ruckus has joined forces with FIRST teams 340 and 1511 to host a MEGA Drive on Make a Difference Day. This MEGA Drive will take place during the Rah Cha Cha Ruckus event.

All teams attending are encouraged to participate in any way they can and help to make a difference in our local communities!  Several prizes are available for teams that contribute!

 

What is a MEGA Drive?

• A blood drive with the American Red Cross from.

• A food drive, with donations going to Foodlink, Inc., to help people in our community who are hungry.

• A children's new or gently used book drive to promote literacy for children through the National Reach Out and Read Program.

• A drive to recycle used cell phones through Imagine It with the proceeds going to the National Reach Out and Read Program.

• A drive to recycle electroncis with Maven Technology, to help protect our environment by keeping hazardous materials out of the landfill. Click here to see a list of items accepted by Maven Technology.

 

What can your team do to help??

Before the Event:

Promote the MEGA Drive in your community by asking people to sign up for the blood drive, collect food, new or gently used childrens books, used cell phones, and old electroncis.

At the Event:

Bring your donotions!! MEGA Drive volunteers will be on hand from 7am-4pm to collect donations. If you can't bring "stuff" for any reason, we will also be accepting monetary donations.

If you can, plan to donate blood; ALL blood donors must be over 16yrs old.  Donors between 16-18 years old MUST have a signed signed parental permission form and have not given blood since August 31st. To sign-up to donate blood, please contact redcrossblood.org or 1-800-733-2767
